Talus support
Write to hello@pronghornlabs.net. Say which device you are on, whether it is set up as the coordinator or the notetaker, and what you were doing, and a person will answer.
Common questions
Coordinator or notetaker: which should I choose?
Choose Coordinator on your own devices. That holds the whole library and keeps it in iCloud. Choose Notetaker on the device of the brother taking notes. It holds only the meetings sent to it as files, and never touches iCloud. You can change it later at the top of Settings.
My meetings don’t appear on my other devices.
Talus syncs through your iCloud account. Make sure every device is signed in to the same Apple Account with iCloud turned on, and that each is set up as the coordinator. The first sync can take a few minutes, and needs a connection.
How do I send the agenda to the notetaker?
Open the meeting and use Send to notetaker. Talus makes a .talus file and opens the share sheet, so you can send it by Messages, Mail or AirDrop. He opens it in Talus, writes the notes, and sends a notes file back. Open that in Talus, or use Import notes on the meeting.
What does the file passcode do?
With Settings › File passcode on, .talus files are encrypted with a passcode you choose. The notetaker types the same passcode to open them, and his notes come back sealed with it. The passcode is never sent with the file, so tell it to him in person. If it is lost, set a new one and send the agenda again.
The notetaker doesn’t have an iPhone, iPad or Mac.
He can open the agenda file at notes.talus.mov in any modern browser. What he types stays in that browser. When he is done, Share saves or shares a notes file to send back to you. On a shared computer, use Settings › Remove everything on that page afterwards.
Where did a meeting go on the notetaker’s device?
A meeting is removed seven days after it is held, but never while its notes are unsent. An archived meeting is removed seven days after it was archived. The coordinator can send the agenda again at any time.
Lock with Face ID doesn’t work.
Talus uses the Face ID, Touch ID or passcode set up on your device. If Face ID was turned off for Talus, open Settings › Face ID & Passcode › Other Apps and turn Talus back on. The device passcode always works as a fallback.
