Multitude of Counselors privacy policy
Multitude of Counselors does not collect, store, share or sell any information about you. It has no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking, we run no server that it talks to, and it is built only with Apple’s frameworks. The game runs between the devices in the room.
Local network
To play together, the app asks for permission to find devices on your local network. It uses that only while you are in Play Together, or while the Apple TV app is open and waiting for players.
- Between iPhones and iPads. A device hosting a game announces itself nearby over Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, under the name you typed, so other devices running the app can list it. Joining devices look for hosts but don’t announce themselves. The connection between them is encrypted by Apple’s Multipeer Connectivity.
- With an Apple TV. The Apple TV announces itself on your Wi-Fi under its own name from Settings, and phones connect to it directly over the local network. This link is not encrypted by the app, and it doesn’t leave your network.
What passes between devices
During a game, the devices exchange only what the game needs:
- Each player’s name and a random identifier the app made on that device, so a player who drops out can rejoin the same seat.
- The cards for the game, including any cards the host has written.
- The state of the game: the scenario, every hand, the cards played, the votes and the scores. The app shows each player only their own hand, and shows played cards without names during the review, but the full state is shared with every device in the game.
- Whether a player has stepped away from the app.
Nothing is sent beyond the devices in the game, and none of it is kept once the game ends.
What stays on your device
Your name, that identifier, the packs you have switched on and the cards you have written are saved on your device only. A deck you export is a file you send yourself, by AirDrop, Messages, Files or any other way you choose, and it holds only cards. The Apple TV remembers only which packs are on.
Scripture links
When you tap a scripture reference, the app opens a jw.org link. If JW Library is installed, it opens there. If not, the page loads from jw.org in a browser view inside the app. Either way, jw.org sees an ordinary request for that verse, including your device’s IP address, under its own privacy policy. No verse text is stored in the app, and nothing else is sent.
What Apple may collect
Apple handles the download and, if you have agreed to it in your device’s settings, may share anonymous crash and usage reports with developers. That is governed by Apple’s privacy policy. Email you choose to send us reaches us with whatever you put in it; we use it only to answer you.
Children
Multitude of Counselors collects nothing from anyone, including children. A player’s name is seen only by the others playing in the same room.
